Marxoxo releases new single "Mental Prison Baby"
Bay Area alt pop artist Marxoxo has unveiled their new single "Mental Prison Baby" today.
An accompanying music for the Ienne-produced single was shot at the Glen Park BART station and was co-directed by the artist and Alex Cao. The visual can be seen below. Marxoxo said this about the new single, which is out on digital services right now:
“‘Mental Prison Baby’ is basically my pop ethos, to induce joy, cognizance, elevation, and empathy. It’s really easy to get depressed in this world, everybody does, especially people like me. But also the experience and perspective I gained from it 200% changed the way I feel and see people. It was really important in my development as both an artist and a human because that void of hopelessness can only be fought back by the light inside. That’s why I referenced one of the most heartwarming lines, ‘ooh child, things are going to get easier,’ that has been sang thru generations from The Five Stairsteps to Tupac and Janet Jackson.”
“Mental Prison Baby” stems from Marxoxo’s forthcoming debut album IDOLL.
