Love Live! School Idol Festival will end service at the end of March
Mobile game Love Live! School Idol Festival will shut down in two months.
Announced yesterday, the game will cease operations on March 31. Starting today, items will no longer be available for purchase. Individuals with Love Gems, passes, and various tickets will still be able to use them. When March 31 arrives, the game will be removed from stores, and it’ll shut down for good.
While this news might sting players worldwide, a sequel titled Love Live! School Idol Festival 2: Miracle Live! is currently in the works right now. No planned release date has been announced yet.
Released in 2013, Love Live! School Idol Festival gained over 50 million downloads during its run. The game launched a spinoff title called Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars, which was released in 2019. An arcade version titled Love Live! School Idol Festival: After School Activity was released in Japanese arcades in 2016 and the PlayStation 4 in 2021.
