Los Angeles rock band Hello Stranger release new single "True Belief"
Los Angeles rock band Hello Stranger has released their new single “True Belief” today.
The new song comes with a music video, which can be seen below. Vocalist Sam Deffenbaugh said this about the song’s meaning:
“I was inspired after seeing Che Guevara shirts for sale at popular, conservative retailers. It’s infuriating to see historical figures and artists decontextualized – from Joe Strummer or MLK Jr. ‘True Belief’ calls out these hypocrisies.”
“True Belief”, which is out on digital services right now, is the title track of Hello Stranger’s forthcoming EP. The three-song release will come out on August 26. Deffenbaugh said this about taking the DIY approach in the studio this time around:
“We had these incredibly topical, salient songs we had been working on for months, but it was difficult to get into studios or collaborate with producers. As many other artists did during that time, we decided to do it ourselves. We were liberated; able to make music when and where we wanted, to say all the things that we knew were important to say, and to freely pursue our musical inclinations wherever they might lead.”
Following the EPs release, the band will continue working on their third studio album.
