Los Angeles garage rock band Velvet Starlings release "There's Nobody There" music video
Los Angeles garage rock band Velvet Starlings unveiled the music video for the single “There’s Nobody There” on Wednesday.
The visual was directed by vocalist Christian Gisborne, who unveiled their debut self-titled EP Velvet Starlings at the age of 15. Gisborne, who recently turned 19, said this about working on the visual:
"We shot the video for 'There’s Nobody There' at the height of the Covid-19 restrictions. Half the scenes are videos of me and my guitar shot with my iPhone and a tripod at an abandoned park, under the freeway and in some empty bushes.
We shot at 2am when there was quite literally 'nobody there'. I think this song and video really captures the feeling of what it really was like during that era where we really didn’t know what was going on or where things would be in the coming months. The rest of the album has a very positive and outgoing sentiment however this track is rooted in the very real doom and gloom that was on our minds in late 2020."
"There's Nobody There" comes from the band’s debut album Technicolour Shakedown, which recently dropped on vinyl via Kitten Robot Records / Sound x 3 Records. The band will unveil their sophomore studio album Pacific Standard Time this summer.
Velvet Starlings will have festival appearances at BeachLife Festival 2022 and Schellraiser Music Festival 2022 before heading to the U.K. for a string of shows. Their entire tour routing can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now.
