KIRA (ex-Black Flag) announces solo debut album, releases new single "The Ghosts"
Former Black Flag bassist KIRA has announced their self-titled solo debut album.
The 10-track album will be released on October 19 via Kitten Robot Records. The record was co-produced by KIRA and their brother Paul Roessler (TSOL, Josie Cotton, Richie Ramone). The first single from the album titled “The Ghosts” is available to stream below.
KIRA said this about working on their new album:
“These days, most of my music is created alone in my room and then fleshed out with tasty additions from close friends I request virtual musical bits from,” she muses about her process. “Then, it's off to Kitten Robot Studio where my loving brother and co-producer Paul Roessler helps me polish each song. The goal is simple – express my inner essence and hope that others might feel a bit of their own by listening.”
Since leaving Black Flag in 1985, KIRA played in Dos with Mike Watt and AwkWard with Devin Hoff. As a dialogue editor, the artist earned two Emmys for their work in John Adams and Game of Thrones and gained an Oscar as part of the sound team for Max Max: Fury Road.
