Jason Cruz and Howl (Strung Out) reveal record release shows in Los Angeles and Austin
Strung Out’s Jason Cruz has announced a pair of record release shows for their outlaw folk project Jason Cruz and Howl.
Cruz will have a hometown release show inside Los Angeles’ South Bay Customs on April 1 with support from Bent Duo and Dog Party. The second record release show will take place on April 21 at Kick Butt Coffee in Austin, Texas with support from Stacey Dee and Lin Le of Bad Cop Bad Cop, Josh Langford Music (featuring members of Starving Wolves and Krum Bums), Austin natives Paul Val and Josh Langford and a DJ Set from Greg Hetson from Circle Jerks.
Aside from music, these record release shows will feature artwork from Cruz inspired by their studio album Wolves. The artist said this about the forthcoming shows, which are done in collaboration with Punk Rock & Paintbrushes:
“For our new album Wolves, I’ve created a piece of artwork for each song. I wanted to make the album release more than just a band playing; I wanted it to be a show. I’ve teamed up with Punk Rock & Paintbrushes to bring the art and music together for two nights. All ten song paintings will be on display along with some killer opening acts . Art is more than just about the things we create, it’s how we choose to live and color our days."
Tickets for the Los Angeles show are on sale here, and tickets for the Austin show are on sale here.
Wolves will be released on April 7 via Liars Club, which is a new record label formed by Amigo the Devil and Regime Music Group. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.
