After a successful debut last year, IGN Live returned to Los Angeles' Magic Box at The Reef for the 2025 installment of IGN Live over the weekend.
The two-day event brought hundreds of video game fans together to play some recent titles as well as dive into nostalgia with classic arcade cabinets. While the second floor was only for panels last year, they expanded the area to include more gaming stations, an artist alley, and special experiences. Nintendo Switch 2 gaming stations allowed folks to battle each other in games such as Mario Kart World and Street Fighter 6. Fans were also able to compete against IGN staff and special guests such as AEW wrestler Anthony Bowens and WWE wrestler Dominick Mysterio in a friendly game of Mario Kart World. The Fan Fix section allowed fans to join forces with IGN hosts such as Brian Altano and Sydnee Goodman to host The Fix.
Last year, IGN Live managed to give away over 9,000 prizes to fans. For this year's installment, they decided to go bigger with over 20,000 prizes. The biggest prize over the weekend was the newly released Nintendo Switch 2. While most prizes were simply thrown into the crowd, the Switch 2 fortunately didn't go through the same process. Two golden tickets were inserted in packages of T-shirts thrown into the crowd. One ticket awarded a lucky fan the Switch 2 with a Mario Kart World download code. The second prize ticket awarded another person the Xbox Series X.
