Hitoshi Sakimoto's video game soundtracks are now on streaming services

Video game fans can now dive into the works of composer Hitoshi Sakimoto on demand.

Through their own Basiscape Records, Sakimoto is celebrating 40 years of video game music by releasing over 40 video game soundtracks on streaming services. Fans can stream soundtracks for games such as 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Valkyria Chronicles, and Odin Sphere. The soundtracks for MyTale, World End Eclipse, and Saihate no Babel have also made their streaming debuts through this celebration. 46 soundtracks are available on streaming platforms right now here.

The composer said this about their 40-year anniversary, which officially takes place in 2026:

"It’s hard to believe it has been 40 years since I began my journey as a composer. I’m truly grateful for the many opportunities I’ve had to create music, and for the continued support of everyone who has listened to and shared my work. Exploring the role of music in games has been a deeply fulfilling path, and every project has taught me something new. As I look ahead, I hope to keep discovering new sounds, new stories, and new ways to connect through music."
