Greg Puciato unveiled the second single from their forthcoming album Mirrorcell today.
Titled “Never Wanted That,” the single comes with a music video co-directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera. Puciato said this about the visual, which was filmed on their tour with Jerry Cantrell:
“This vid was a nice exercise in making do with what you have available to you, or the creative benefits of limitation. We filmed this in Baltimore, which was special to me, at like 3 a.m., while on the Cantrell tour. It was really the only time I had. We did multiple whole takes and this was the one. Jim and Tony, as usual, did an excellent job. At one point you can see me f**k up the words. I had to learn so many Cantrell songs that I forgot my own go*amned lyrics.”
Pre-orders for Mirrorcell, which arrives on July 1 via Federal Prisoner, can be made here. The nine-track album was produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cure, Snapcase). While Puciato recorded guitars and bass for the release, drums were handled by Chris Hornbrook, who did drums on Puciato’s 2020 debut solo album Child Soldier: Creator of God.
