GKIDS acquires North American rights to Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time

GKIDS has announced a major acquisition for Evangelion fans today.

The film distributor has acquired North American rights to Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. Released last year, the film is the fourth and final installment of the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. The film will be released in North American theaters later this year, which will be followed by digital and physical releases.

GKIDS President David Jesteadt said this about the acquisition:

“GKIDS is honored to represent the epic conclusion of a story over 25 years in the making. Like with so many others, EVANGELION was critical in expanding my idea of what animation could be, and I look forward to joining other fans in theaters to celebrate the end of the saga with EVANGELION:3.0+1.01 THRICE UPON A TIME.”

Last year, GKIDS made Neon Genesis Evangelion and its films Evangelion: Death (True)2 and The End of Evangelion available on Blu-ray and digital download for the first time in North America. Digital downloads and physical copies can be purchased here.
