Florida nu-emocore band GILT have unveiled their new single “Seattle Day 2” today.
An accompanying music video, which can be seen here, was shot and edited by Ribshot Visuals. Guitarist/vocalist Tyler Fieldhouse said this about the video and new single, which is the band’s first release in four years:
“‘Seattle Day 2’ references the name of a bossfight with The Rat King in the popular The Last Of Us game series. It’s directly about succumbing to your worst self and is intended to feel inescapable. It comes with an accompanying classic core-era music video featuring influencer Kace Valentine in a campy horror subplot as a possessed Youtuber, linking to the album’s overall theme of media oversaturation and escapism.”
GILT will make their way to SXSW for Smartpunk Records’ SXSW Showcase at Hotel Vegas on March 17. On March 21, the band will perform with Capstan, In Her Own Words, and Dreamwake at The Abbey in Orlando.
