Genghis Tron to release new album in 2021

New York metal group Genghis Tron have returned from a 10-year hiatus to work on new music.

Announced today, the band are currently working on their new studio album at GodCity Studio with producer Kurt Ballou, who worked on their first two albums. For this release, founding members Michael Sochynsky and Hamilton Jordan will be joined by vocalist Tony Wolski and Sumac/Baptists drummer Nick Yacyshyn. Original vocalist Mookie Singerman will not return for this album. “We said it was just a hiatus and we meant it! It’s been incredible writing music again and hearing everything come together in the studio. This is the album we’ve always wanted to write. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on,” Sochynsky said in a statement.

Genghis Tron’s new studio album will be released sometime in 2021 via Relapse Records. The band’s first two albums (2006’s Dead Mountain Mouth and 2008’s Board Up the House) were recently re-issued on vinyl for the first time in a decade last month. You can pick those up here.
