Australian alternative metal band Future Static dropped their new single “Waves” on Tuesday.
The track debuts the band’s new vocalist Amariah Cook, who said this about the new jam:
“The song resonates with many different experiences that we’ve all faced recently. From doing a whole lot of nothing, to then diving back into a fast-paced, relentless rhythm, with no certainty of anything going ahead. It’s all so overwhelming to even begin to think about. It feels like you're being submerged, drowning in an ocean, and you can’t get out, even though you know that all you have to do is sit up, breathe, and just feel the waves.”
“Waves” arrives with a music video directed by Liam Davidson of Lord Media. The visual can be seen below.
“Waves” is available on digital services right now via Wild Thing Records. Next year, Future Static will release a slew of singles before unveiling their debut album in the second portion of 2022.
