Chicago experimental post-punk outfit FACS have unveiled their new single “General Public” today.

The visual for the tune, which can be viewed below, was directed by FACS’ bassist Alianna Kalaba. Guitarist Brian Case said this about the new song:

"The song is about roles, perceived and assumed, and how we translate that with each other. This song fell out complete, Andy Gill had recently died and we were channeling Gang Of Four "Solid Gold" era, where it feels like everyone is playing a different song together."

“General Public” stems from FACS’ forthcoming studio album Present Tense, which can be pre-ordered here. The album, which also features the previously released single “Strawberry Cough,” will be released on May 21 via Trouble in Mind.

Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
