Erasure release music video for “Nerves of Steel”

Erasure invited a slew of drag stars for their new music video for “Nerves of Steel”

Released today, the music video was co-produced by Brad Hammer and Tyler Stone. “This is my favorite track from the album, I am truly honored that all our LGBTQIA+ friends were so creative during lockdown and helped us with this joyful video. Thanks for creating such a lovely piece of art,” singer Andy Bell said in a statement.

The music video features 6, Amanda Lepore, Aurora Sexton, Candis Cayne, Cara Melle, Cheddar Gorgeous, CT Hedden, Delta Work, Detox, Joey Jay, Kiki Xtravaganza, Manila Luzon, Mayhem Miller, Mercedes Tyler, Morgan Michaels, Nina West, Pandomonia, Pearl, Raja Gemini, Sherry Vine, and Widow Von ‘Du.

When discussing the track, RuPaul’s Drag Race season three runner-up Manila Luzon said, “’Nerves of Steel’ evokes the butterfly feelings I remember when first falling in love and nothing else in the world mattered — pure excitement and electricity!” Detox, who was the runner-up for season two of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, said, “Erasure has been an integral part of my queer soundtrack from early on and it was a tremendous honor to be included in their new work!”

“Nerves of Steel” comes from Erasure’s forthcoming studio album The Neon, which arrives on August 21 via Mute Records. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.
