Elden Ring sells 12 million copies worldwide
Elden Ring hasn’t been out for a full month, and the game is already pulling big numbers.
In a press statement, it was revealed the FromSoftware title has sold 12 million copies worldwide. In collaboration with Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin, Elden Ring follows the player’s journey to retrieve the Elden Ring and become the Elden God. Development on the game began back in 2017.
Hidetaka Miyazaki, President and CEO/Director of FromSoftware said this about the achievement:
“It's astonishing to see just how many people have been playing ELDEN RING. I'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire development team. ELDEN RING is based on a mythological story written by George R. R. Martin. We hope players enjoy a high level of freedom when adventuring through its vast world, exploring its many secrets, and facing up to its many threats. Thank you for your continued support.”
Yasuo Miyakawa, President and CEO of Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. also said:
