EA reveals Skate 4 is currently in development
The cries for another Skate game have been echoing throughout the offices of EA for a decade. Now, those fans who desired another installment are getting their wish.
During today’s EA Play, creative director Chris "Cuz" Parry and game director Deran Chung announced they’re in the early stages of development on Skate 4. While they had nothing to show, the news of another Skate game coming was enough for fans of the skateboarding game franchise. You can see the announcement below. There’s no word about what consoles this game will appear on.
Debuting in 2007, Skate was the perfect alternative to the highly popular Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series. While Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater had an arcade feel, Skate had a more realistic approach. Skate 3, which was released in 2010, became the most popular installment with 2.6 million copies sold. While EA shut down the game’s servers in 2016, they opened them back up two years later.
This news comes weeks after the reveal of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 remasters.
