Denver dream-pop artist Allison Lorenzen unveiled their cover of Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a Place on Earth" yesterday.
Unlike the original tune, this slowcore cover trudges along with lush reverbs and heavenly synthesizers at every turn. Unveiled in 1987, "Heaven is a Place on Earth" became Carlisle's only number-one hit. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Lorenzen has been promoting their latest studio album Tender, which feature collaborations with Madeline Johnston of Midwife and Daniel Patrick Henry of Memory Tapes. The eight-track album is available on digital services right now via Whited Sepulchre Records.
