Dent May releases new single "Time Flies When You're Having Fun (ft. Pearl & The Oysters)"
Los Angeles indie-pop artist Dent May has dropped another sample of their forthcoming album What's For Breakfast? today.
The new track "Time Flies When You're Having Fun” finds the musician teaming up with fellow L.A. indie-pop act Pearl & The Oysters. An accompanying music video for the tune, which can be seen below, was co-directed by Nathan Castiel & Joe Agius.
May said this about working on the new song:
"Juliette and Joachim from Pearl & The Oysters are two of my best friends in Los Angeles, and we’ve casually collaborated on a few of their tunes over the years. I felt it was long overdue to have an official track together, and we wrote and recorded most of it from scratch in a single day at my studio Honeymoon Suite, finishing it up in a second session months later. The song originated from something Juliette wrote, which became the first verse. While we were working on an instrumental idea for the chorus, I started singing the chorus from a completely different song called “Time Flies When You’re Having Fun,” which I had partially demoed a while back. It was a beautiful serendipity that our two ideas lined up perfectly."
What's For Breakfast? will arrive on March 29 via Carpark Records. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. Before the album’s release, May will have a handful of listening parties in California and one exclusively through Bandcamp (RSVP for the Bandcamp listening party here).
The artist will be promoting the album on tour through the United States, the U.K., and Europe. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets for the U.S. shows are on sale to the general public right now here. Tickets for the U.K. and Europe shows will go live tomorrow (March 8) at 2pm GMT / 3pm CET.
