Deadpool 3 set for 2024 release, Hugh Jackman to reprise role of Wolverine
Major details on Deadpool 3 have been unveiled today.
The film, which will officially introduce the "Merc with a Mouth" to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will hit theaters on September 6, 2024. This puts the film in between the releases of Thunderbolts (July 26, 2024) and Fantastic Four (November 8, 2024). There’s no word if this film ends Phase Five of the MCU or kicks off Phase Six.
Another major announcement is that Hugh Jackman will reprise their beloved role of Wolverine. Over the years, Reynolds have been teasing about Jackman’s possible involvement with the film. In 2009, the two co-starred in the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine portraying their noticeable characters. The pair earned an MTV Movie Awards nomination for Best Movie Fight along with Liev Schreiber. Reynolds’ announcement can be seen below.
Filming for Deadpool 3 took place this year in Vancouver, Canada. The film was directed by Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy, who worked with Reynolds and Jackman in the past. Levy worked with Reynolds in the films Free Guy and The Adam Project and worked with Jackman in Real Steel.
