Boston by way of Rahway, New Jersey rock band Cut The Kids In Half have announced their debut album.
What We Became is slated for a January 31 release. The nine-track album was produced by Lee DeWyze in Los Angeles with its recording with Ray Ketchem (Guided By Voices, Alex Chilton) taking place in New Jersey. The album includes the previously released singles “A Good Man Died” and “The Quiet Life of August.”
To celebrate the announcement, Cut The Kids In Half unveiled their new single “Song of Two Humans” today. The song arrives with a music video directed by Naomi Valcourt, which can be seen here. Vocalist Jack Silver said this about the song:
“I wrote the first lines after a strained conversation with an old friend, and somewhere along the way it became about a relationship. It’s about what it’s like when you discover everything about someone, and one day you realize you don’t like what you’ve found. One day you’re together, the next you’re in each other’s way.”
