Crown Lands release new track "Blackstar"

Canadian prog rock band Crown Lands have delivered their new single “Blackstar” today.

An accompanying music video for “Blackstar,” which is available below, was directed by Luke Paron. Guitarist Kevin Comeau said this about the song:

“Apocalypse is very much Blackstar’s story: his rise to power within the Syndicate, his violent victories over the Dragon Riders of Karagon, and the crushing loss of his family in the resulting civil war on his home-planet.

The song Blackstar reads like an old-western murder ballad like Marty Robbin’s Big Iron, only through a cosmic space-prog metal lens. It’s a chronicle of Blackstar sweeping through the galaxy, crushing all that lay in his path.”

“Blackstar” stems from Crown Lands forthcoming studio album Apocalypse, which will drop on May 15 via InsideOutMusic. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. This summer, Crown Lands will perform at the Beaumont Music Festival and New Maritime Music Festival. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
