Chicago indie rock band Neptune's Core announce 'Called Upon' EP, release new song "Inside"
Chicago indie rock band Neptune's Core will drop their new EP this summer.
Announced today, the band’s six-song EP titled Called Upon will be released on August 25 via Side Hustle Records. The first single from the release titled “Inside” arrives with a music video directed by the band, which can be seen below.
Bassist Hannah Richter, who edited the visual, said this about the video and song:
"'Inside' is full of experimentation. It’s full of agony too. The lyrics come from a real part of me. They give voice to my struggles. Belting out 'When does it get better?' makes me feel something, which is why I wrote the song–to feel something and to share that feeling with others.
Throughout the majority of the video you see all of us keep stoic expressions while we let the music show what we really are feeling. While our expressions were cold, we were representing what we show the world, but the music represents what everyone actually feels inside. This video wasn’t made to just be seen, this video was made to be felt."
Pre-saves for Called Upon can be made here. “Inside” is out on digital services right now. This EP follows the band’s 2021 studio album Evolving.
Neptune’s Core will hold their EP release show at Chicago's Metro on August 26 along with Motel Breakfast and OK Cool. Before the show, the band will also play at Avrom Farm Party on August 5 in Green Lake, WI. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
