Post-punk band screensaver release new single "Drainer," announce Australian tour
Australian post-punk band screensaver have released their new track “Drainer” today.
The track comes with an accompanying music video produced by Grace Stevenson, which can be seen below. screensaver's Krystal Maynard said this about the song and video:
“In the clip we’re really trying to communicate a sense of frustration but with a light hearted approach, highlighting a few of the everyday things that can happen in your day to day to put you in a shitty mood. It’s not a literal interpretation of the song’s lyrics but more about capturing a mood; the live set at the end is the cathartic release where the band gets to shake off all that draining energy.”
“Drainer” stems from screensaver’s forthcoming studio album Decent Shapes, which is slated for an October 20th release via Poison City/Upset The Rhythm. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. This is the follow-up to the band’s 2021 debut album Expressions of Interest.
screensaver will support the album with their first-ever trek across their home country. Tour dates can be seen below.
