Atlanta singer-songwriter Becca Harvey a.k.a. Girlpuppy has unveiled their new single "I Miss When I Smelled Like You" today.
The new song was produced and co-written by Doug Schadt (Maggie Rogers, Wet, Ashe). An accompanying music video, which can be seen below, was directed by frequent collaborator Eat Humans. The artist said this about the new track:
“This song is much more pop-based–it’s so different from what I’ve made in the past and what I’ll make in the future. For “I Miss When I Smelled Like You” I was looking to create a summer anthem that people would dance to. It’s inspired by Stevie Nicks, HAIM, and my own experience of missing spending every single day with my ex. It’s a breakup song, but it’s not depressing. I knew he’d be a great fit because he’s so good at coming up with catchy melodies that get stuck in your head. I think people will 100% dance to it!"
"I Miss When I Smelled Like You" is available on digital services right now via Royal Mountain Records.
