Apex Legends hits Steam on November 4, Nintendo Switch port arrives in 2021
EA has given a major update on Apex Legends’ forthcoming ports today.
The popular battle royale will officially have its Steam launch on November 4. If you played Apex Legends on Origin, your account progression and unlocks will carry over to the Steam version. Head here to wishlist the game on Steam. All Steam players will gain exclusive Portal and Half-Life gun charms when they log in during season seven.
For Nintendo Switch owners, the wait for Apex Legends will be a bit longer. EA revealed plans to release the Switch port of Apex Legends sometime in 2021. In a statement, Apex Legends game designer Chad Grenier said:
“Second, for those who game on the Nintendo Switch,we’re still hard at work on the port, but in order to do justice to the game and make it into the great experience Switch players deserve, our team needs more time. This year has brought on unexpected new challenges, to put it mildly, and we don’t want to rush anything out.
Switch owners can expect to get their hands on Apex Legends next year. And of course, when Apex Legends does launch on Switch, it’ll come with support for cross-platform play, our latest seasonal content, and full feature parity with the other versions of the game.
We can’t wait to get Apex Legends into your hands (or your TV-connected dock) on Switch.
See you soon, and thanks for understanding.
Apex Legends is currently holding its Fight or Fright event, which brings a ton of Halloween cosmetics and a new Shadow Royale game mode. Fight or Fright will last until November 3.
