Aesthetic Perfection to unveil re-recorded debut album 'Close to Human' as 'Closer to Human'
Aesthetic Perfection will give longtime fans a new take of their debut album this year.
Announced today, Closer To Human is a re-recorded version of the artist’s 2005 debut album Close To Human. The first single from the album titled “Beautiful” is out on digital services right now. Aesthetic Perfection’s Daniel Graves said this about the updated version, which arrives in time for the album’s 20th anniversary:
To my beloved Perfectionists,
I’m beyond excited to announce that, after 20 years, my debut album Close to Human is back—but not as you remember it.
In late 2005, a catastrophic hard drive failure led me to believe the album was lost forever. For years, I thought I’d never be able to perform these songs live again with the same energy, soul, and impact of the original 2005 release. But in 2024, something changed...
After hunting down all the original hardware and samples, I made the decision to painstakingly reconstruct the album from the ground up. The result isn’t just a remaster—it’s a resurrection. Beat for beat, note for note. Close to Human lives again as Closer to Human.
For the physical release, I’ve partnered with Dependent Records to create deluxe packaging unlike anything we've ever done with Aesthetic Perfection.
These physical editions will be strictly limited.
While physical presales for the album will go live to the general public on April 14, members of the Imperfect Society can grab physical presales right now.
Aesthetic Perfection will have a slew of shows in Europe and the United States in the following months, including some special throwback shows. Tour dates and tickets can be found here.
