Will Arnett and wrestling star Samoa Joe cast as Sweet Tooth in Peacock's Twisted Metal show
The cast of Peacock’s forthcoming Twisted Metal adaptation has earned two big names for one role.
On Wednesday, it was revealed that Will Arnett (BoJack Horseman, Arrested Development) will lend their voice to Sweet Tooth. The actor will also be an executive producer for the series. Yesterday, wrestling star Samoa Joe announced they will physically portray the character on screen.
The two stars already join Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, and Richard Cabral in the main cast. The Twisted Metal show is being developed by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick with Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith penning the show’s script. Filming for the series already began last month, and it’s expecting to end this September.
A synopsis for the show reads:
“The show is about a motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown named who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck, whom fans of the game will know as Sweet Tooth.”
The Twisted Metal series will make its way to Peacock in the future.
