Indie rock band Velvet Rouge, which features former The Voice contestant Zo, has delivered another taste of their forthcoming EP today.

The single “Shattered” revolves around the oversexualization of women in music. The song comes with a music video co-directed by Zo and Thomas Smith, which can be seen here.

Zo said this about the single:

"The music industry can be incredibly tough, especially for women. There's a constant pressure to conform to certain standards, to fit into a mold that often emphasizes appearance over talent that screams unauthentic. The over-sexualization of women in the industry is something that needs to change, and that’s why 'Shattered' is so important to me.”

“Shattered” stems from Velvet Rouge’s forthcoming self-titled EP, which arrives on July 26. Velvet Rouge will have a slew of performances this summer, including a gig at The Viper Room in Los Angeles on July 19. Tour dates can be seen below.
