Today, Uruguayan indie folk artist Juan Wauters has unveiled their new single "Nube Negra,” which finds them teaming up with Y La Bamba’s Luz Elena Mendoza.

An accompanying music video for the song, which can be seen below, was directed by Fatos Marishta. Wauters said this about the song and visual:

““Nube Negra” was written and recorded in NY with Carlos Hernandez. The song and the video touch on the idea of relocating to a new town in search of a new life, leaving one’s problems behind without realizing that those problems will follow us along. Once the song was written we wanted a guest singer for the Nube Negra (black cloud) part and thought Luz’s voice (Y La Bamba) would fit well, given the mysterious qualities of her voice.”

"Nube Negra” stems from Wauters’ forthcoming studio album Wandering Rebel, which will be released on June 2 via Captured Tracks. Aside from Y La Bamba, The 12-track album features collaborations with Zoe Gotusso, Frankie Cosmos, Super Willy K, and John Carroll Kirby. Pre-orders for Wandering Rebel, which follows Wauters’ 2021 studio album Real Life Situations, can be made here.
