Toronto alt pop-rock artist Päter will deliver their debut album in April.

Announced yesterday, 4-7 Company is slated for an April 4 release. The album was co-produced by the artist and Juno-winning producer Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, the New Pornographers). The first single from the album titled “Catching Cold” can be heard below. Päter said this about the new song:

"’Catching Cold’ is about the feeling of a memory you can't quite place. I was born on an island off the coast of Iran - Qeshm - and my family and immigrated to Canada when I was 7. Iranian culture is a lot more open than North American culture, especially Canadian, so it was a tough adjustment learning to contain myself to a degree to get along. Now as an adult all my memories of that past life in Iran are blurry images of a warm, beautiful place. There's an aching for the comfort of that time in this song."

On April 11, Päter will have a record release show at The Monarch Tavern in Toronto with support from Chelsea Preston. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here. Next Wednesday (February 28), the artist will perform at Kensington Sound for Bigfam Session V4. Tickets for this show are on sale to the general public right now here.
