Louisiana sludge metal band Thou will unveil their new album ahead of its release with a new video game.

Revealed yesterday, the band have joined forces with Louisiana game studio Geography of Robots for Silenus, which features all 10 tracks from the record. Thou previously provided music for Geography of Robots’ 2022 game NORCO. Streamer Leigh Aucoin will play a demo of the game this Sunday (May 19) at 2 p.m. EST/11 a.m. PST over on their Twitch channel. Silenus will officially be released this Monday (May 20) at 10 a.m. EST/7 a.m. PST over on Steam.

A synopsis for Silenus reads:

Rubens Link, an enigmatic company with an unclear agenda, has taken control of the Gulf Flow oil refinery. Officially, they're introducing new automation technologies, but the changes they've implemented suggest something more confounding.

In this narrative micro-adventure, you play as Titian, Rubens Link's flagship android. Explore the refinery’s machinery, tank farms, and offices, deciphering clues from computer logs, discarded journals, and the remnants of vanished workers. Solve puzzles, absorb the atmospheric soundscapes of fmAura & Gewgawly I, interact with unique characters, and wander deeper down the rabbit hole of Gulf Flow Oil.

Umbilical will be released on May 31 via Sacred Bones. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. Thou will promote the album with a slew of shows in the United States as well as a tour across Australia and New Zealand with Full of Hell. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now.
