The Writers' Guild of Great Britain have revealed the shortlist for their annual ceremony today.

Next year’s event, which takes place on February 14 at London’s Royal College of Physicians, will honor two years of British writing after last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

WGGB President Sandi Toksvig OBE said this about the forthcoming ceremony:

“What a fitting day to celebrate the cream of British writers – who have kept us entertained on page, stage, screen and across the airwaves, through such dark times.

Our creative industries play such an important role, as do all those who work within them and we hope our awards ceremony on Valentine’s Day will send this message – you matter, we care, and thank you for your words, which have lifted us all up over these past two years.”

In the video game portion, Amnesia: Rebirth, Overboard!, and Röki are up for Best Writing in a Video Game. Other noticeable nominations include Adult Material (Best Long Form TV Drama), Promising Young Woman (Best First Screenplay), and Paddington & The Love Day Cards (Best Children’s TV Episode).
