The Romantics' Mike Skill remakes band's classic "What I Like About You"

The Romantics' Mike Skill has dropped a remake of the band’s beloved hit "What I Like About You" today.

The track, which can be heard below, features Skill on lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and bass as well as lead and backup vocals, The Romantics’ Brad Elvis on drums, and Patrick Harwood on harmonica. The remake arrives on the 41st anniversary of the track’s original release.

Skill said this about working on the tune:

“I offered that I had this new idea... I opened with the simple chords, and [drummer/singer Jimmy Marinos] jumped in with his signature animal groove… and [he] instantly dropped in singing, scatting, jamming in free form, sketching a lyric, throwing words against the wall to see what would stick, as I scattered with back ups... Uh huh, Hey! Uh huh!”

The track stems from Skill’s forthcoming self-titled solo album, which will be released on September 10.
