2022 is gone, but its music videos will live on forever. Artists love expressing themselves even further with the right visual clip. Whether it’s a performance visual with some friends or a well-scripted short film, music videos can show off a different side of the artist. These are five of the best music videos to be released last year.

5) .bHP - "Crownless"

Polish rockers .bHP takes folks back to the era when JNCO jeans were all the rage with their music video for "Crownless." In the visual, vocalist Aśka swaps between delivering vocals on a mic and baseball bat. The hard-hitting tune stems from the band's self-titled debut album. The music video was directed by Filip Adamski.

4) Formidable Hate Machine - “Behold”

Indian industrial metal band Formidable Hate Machine dives into the world of social media with their visual for "Behold." For the video, the act worked with Phantom Bodo Claymation for a haunting look at how social media can be corrupted. The song comes from the band's latest studio album Inception of textured audio violence.

3) Jobber - “Hell In A Cell”

NYC grunge-punk band Jobber don't keep their love for professional wrestling a secret (one could simply tell by their band name). For the single "Hell In A Cell," which is the title track to their debut EP, the band got engaged in a friendly competition in WWE2K22 with a slew of created wrestlers, including The Mask and Ozzy Osbourne. The visual was directed by Steve Marucci.

2) Kendrick Lamar - “N95”

Acclaimed rapper Kendrick Lamar is known for having some eye-catching music videos over the years. The visual for "N95," which was the first single from their fifth studio album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, continues' Lamar's visual journeys with the rapper hovering over an ocean, a car plowing through a row of chairs, and a brief skateboarding montage. The visual was co-directed by Lamar and longtime collaborator Dave Free.

1) Lorna Shore - "Pain Remains" trilogy

New Jersey symphonic deathcore band Lorna Shore delivered one of metal's most praised albums with Pain Remains. Within the album lies the epic "Pain Remains" trilogy of songs. The series of accompanying music videos tell a story of a man heartbroken by the loss of their wife. From "Dancing Like Flames" to "In a Sea of Fire," the viewer is taken on a morbid journey through love, loss, and acceptance. The MyGoodEye-directed trilogy of music videos was written by Lorna Shore guitarist Adam De Micco. Only being able to choose one video from the trio was tough, which is why all three as a combined unit is the best call.
