Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (September 9 through September 15).

Tuesday, September 10

The Polyphonic Spree @ Teragram Ballroom
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Choral rock band The Polyphonic Spree will head to Teragram Ballroom for their current U.S. tour. The band will be in the area in support of their latest studio album Salvage Enterprise. Another Michael and Escape Artist Lovers will also perform.

Wednesday, September 11

Dead On A Sunday, Haunt Me @ Teragram Ballroom
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Denver post-punk act Dead On A Sunday will take over Teragram Ballroom in support of their new sophomore studio album Cold Red Sea. The act will be joined by Haunt Me, who recently collaborated with Dead On A Sunday for "Nunca Volveré A Amar," and Los Angeles' own Devon Thompson.

Friday, September 13

Friday Block Party @ UCB Theatre
Doors: 5:15 p.m. (tickets)

Hosted by Sean Williams, Friday Block Party will bring together a slew of black and POC improvisers for an event filled with laughter. Phil Augusta Jackson, Aman Adumer, Shakira Paye, Jacquis Neal, Marcus Folmar, Ashley Parchment, Choni Francis, Yazmin Monet Watkins, Josh Ssettuba, Leonard Smith Jr., Rod Benson, Chris Eddins, Moni Oyedepo, Evan Cleaver, Ahsohn Williams, and Jon Durnell will appear at the show. As expected, the lineup is subject to change.

Voia, Iris Kymm @ TBA
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

MakeOutMusic will deliver a Friday night showcase of the finest local acts around with Voia, Iris Kymm, HYPERLOCK, YX2, and Faint Yellow. The show's location will be revealed to ticket holders on Friday.

Front 242, Riki @ The Mayan
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets) 21+

There are a few tickets left for Front 242's final Los Angeles show on their farewell tour. Riki and Spike Hellis will also perform.

Saturday, September 14

HorrorCon Los Angeles @ L.A. Convention Center
Doors: 12 p.m. (tickets)

This weekend, HorrorCon Los Angeles takes over the L.A. Convention Center for two days of horror fun. Attendees will be able to meet celebs such as Candy Clark (The Blob, Amityville 3-D), Beverly D'Angelo (National Lampoon's Vacation, American History X), and Miko Hughes (Pet Sematary, Spawn). The convention will also feature a Jaws 2 cast reunion panel and a celebration of Ted Cassidy’s career with their son Sean. More information about the convention can be found here.
