Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (August 19 through August 25).

Wednesday, August 21

Bittersweethearts, Melatonin Girls @ Moroccan Lounge
Doors: 8 p.m. (tickets)

Moroccan Lounge will be the place for some rising local talent with Bittersweethearts, Melatonin Girls, and TemperMental taking the stage.

Thursday, August 22

Squeeze, Boy George @ YouTube Theater
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Squeeze and Boy George's summer co-headlining tour makes its way to YouTube Theater. Squeeze are best known for their hits "Tempted," "Hourglass," and "853-5937." Their last studio album was 2017's The Knowledge. Boy George took over the 80s as the vocalist for Culture Club, but they continued their success as a solo artist with hits such as "Everything I Own," "Live My Life," and "The Crying Game." Their last record was their 2018 album with Culture Club titled Life.

Friday, August 23

Vlad Holiday, Tino Drima @ Gold-Diggers
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets) 21+

Fresh from their tour alongside Cage The Elephant, Vlad Holiday will headline Gold-Diggers. The artist recently unveiled their collaboration with Kacey Musgraves titled "I Don’t Wanna Party Anymore." Opening the show is Tino Drima.

Streetlight Manifesto, Tiny Stills @ The Wiltern
Doors: 6:30 p.m. (tickets)

Beloved New Jersey ska punk band Streetlight Manifesto return to Los Angeles with a headlining performance at The Wiltern. The band have been working on the long-awaited follow-up to their 2013 studio album The Hands That Thieve. Tiny Stills will be the opening act.

Saturday, August 24

Happy Sundays Fest @ various Long Beach venues
Doors: 11 a.m.

Happy Sundays Fest will deliver two days of free live music throughout multiple venues in Long Beach. Saturday's lineup include Hex Code, zzzahara, and Dream Phases. More information about the event can be found here.

Nuovo Testamento, Purest Form @ Lodge Room
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Nuovo Testamento will kick off a string of shows across the United States with a performance at Lodge Room. The Los Angeles & Bologna-based post-punk group will be supporting their latest album Love Lines. Purest Form and CD Ghost will also perform.

Sunday, August 25

Happy Sundays Fest @ various Long Beach venues
Doors: 11 a.m.

Sunday's lineup for Happy Sundays Fest include Egg Drop Soup, Furcast, and Soft Palms.

Mt. Joy @ Hollywood Bowl
Doors: 5:30 p.m. (tickets)

Indie rock band Mt. Joy will have their biggest headlining show in Los Angeles to date with a performance at Hollywood Bowl. Earlier this year, the group unveiled their single "Highway Queen," which peaked at number two on the Adult Alternative Songs chart. Local Natives will be the opening act.

The Aquadolls, Devon Thompson @ The Paramount
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Surf punk group The Aquadolls will conclude summer with a headlining gig at The Paramount. The group have been supporting their latest album Charmed with festival appearances at Riot Fest, Bottlerock, and Shaky Knees. Broken Baby and Devon Thompson will be the opening acts.

Into Another, Shades Apart @ Zebulon
Doors: 8 p.m. (tickets) 21+

NYC post-hardcore band Into Another will have a rare appearance in Los Angeles this Sunday, and they're bringing 80s Rhode Island hardcore punk band Verbal Assault and New Jersey alt rock/hardcore punk group Shades Apart for one special show.
