The best Los Angeles events for the week of April 1 - April 7

Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (April 1 through April 7).

Wednesday, April 3

Night Club, Rosegarden Funeral Party @ Echoplex (1154 Glendale Blvd.)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Los Angeles synthpop act Night Club will have a special hometown performance at the Echoplex. This week, the band will begin their North American tour in support of their new studio album Masochist, which features a guest appearance from Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Rosegarden Funeral Party, who'll be supporting their new album From the Ashes, and producer JPEG will be the opening acts.

Friday, April 5

Eyedress, Na-Kel Smith @ Natural History Museum (900 Exposition Blvd.)
Doors: 5 p.m. (tickets)

The Natural History Museum will hold its second First Fridays event this year with the topic of gender in nature. Aside from a discussion and a film screening, there will also be musical performances from Eyedress and Na-Kel Smith along with a DJ set from mini bear.

Street Fever, MMDA @ Silverlake Lounge (2906 Sunset Blvd.)
Doors: 9:30 p.m. (free tickets) 21+

After five years, Queerspace is saying goodbye, but they're not leaving without one final show. For the last Queerspace event, attendees will be greeted by live music from Street Fever, MMDA, Jehanne, and Sasha Forests. DJ sets from Geneva Jacuzzi and Spike Hellis will take place in between performances.

Saturday, April 6

Waterparks, Loveless @ Hollywood Palladium (6215 W Sunset Blvd.)
Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)

Los Angeles pop punk band Waterparks will conclude their Sneaking Out Of Heaven tour with a performance at Hollywood Palladium, The band's last studio album was 2023's Intellectual Property, which debuted at number 33 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Joining Waterparks as support are alternative rock band Loveless.

CityWalk The Musical: One Year Anniversary @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 6:45 p.m. (tickets) 15+

Sketch comedy team Moon Goon's CityWalk The Musical is celebrating its one year anniversary on Saturday. The show dives into the world of CityWalk where restaurants come to life for one wacky experience. The cast for CityWalk: The Musical features Mary Anthony, Jeremy Culhane, Jasmine Don, Josh Fleury, Angela Giarratana, Paul Heredia, Mary Lou, Skyler Madsen, Chanse McCrary, Nikki Mckenzie, and Andrew Santiago.

Old 97’s, Holler Choir @ Fonda Theatre (6126 Hollywood Blvd.)
Doors: 8 p.m. (tickets)

Alt-country band Old 97’s will celebrate the release of their new album American Primitive with a record release show at Fonda Theatre. The show comes during the band’s forthcoming West Coast trek, which kicks off on April 3. American Primitive arrives this Friday via ATO Records. Holler Choir will join as support.

Sunday, April 7

Gumby & Friends @ Lodge Room (104 N Ave 56 2nd floor)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Sunday night belongs to Gumby & Friends at Lodge Room. Attendees will enjoy watching classic episodes of Gumby & Friends before engaging in a special Q&A session with stop motion animator Rich Zim, who is best known for their work on Pee Wee’s Playhouse, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and James & the Giant Peach.

Gary Numan, Front Line Assembly @ Fonda Theatre (6126 Hollywood Blvd.)
Doors: 8 p.m. (tickets)

A handful of tickets are left for Gary Numan's headlining show at Fonda Theatre. This special headlining show takes place during Numan's supporting run with Ministry. Numan's last studio album was 2021's Intruder. Front Line Assembly, who are also part of Ministry's current tour, will join as the opening act. FLA's last release was 2021's Mechanical Soul.
