Surf Mesa releases new single "City Of Love (feat. Selah Sol)"
Surf Mesa has unveiled their first single of 2023 today.
“City Of Love” finds the artist teaming up with vocalist Selah Sol. Mesa said this about their new song:
“My heart has taken its time to sit with this song for a while now. I first heard the vocal from Selah Sol in October of 2021 and I spent that same night in the studio, drawing my imagination to audio. Countless versions and revisions have been made until this one and I could not be more ready to share it with the world!! This song resonates with my life and sonic sound to a T and I hope it resonates with listeners, too.”
An accompanying music video for the tune features professional downhill skateboarder Cole Trotta. Alex Kennedy, who worked on the visual for Mesa and Nat Dunn’s single “State Of My Heart,” directed the new video in Malibu. Mesa said this about working with Trotta on the video, which can be seen below:
“I was scrolling on Instagram when my Explore page showed me this video of some kid absolutely ripping down this hill on a long board – Cole Trotta. I spent the next 15 minutes scrolling through and had to hit him up. I thought how cool it would be to have him tag along for the ‘City Of Love’ video! I’m so glad he was based in Cali. We met up and made it happen. Definitely check him out, he’s the nicest kid ever.”
“City Of Love” is available on digital services right now via Astralwerks.
