Star Wars Day (May 4) goes down this Saturday, and some Los Angeles fans of the iconic franchise already have plans for this special occasion. Others, however, might still be wondering how to celebrate their fandom. If having a Star Wars marathon at home isn't something you'd want to do (even though most people WILL do that), there's a handful of events in Los Angeles designed to bring fans together. May the 4th Celebration: Across the Galaxy @ Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (6067 Wilshire Blvd.)

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will bring a massive Star Wars celebration with their family-friendly Across The Galaxy event. The event will feature live demonstrations of the Dykstraflex (camera control system used to film the original Star Wars trilogy), a Force training demonstration, and a meet and greet with BB8 and R2D2. There will also be film screenings of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. As expected, come dress up as your favorite Star Wars character.

May the 4th Be With You Party @ Scum & Villainy Cantina (6377 Hollywood Blvd.)
Doors: 6 a.m. (free) 21+

Scum & Villainy Cantina will be a definite hotspot for Star Wars fans with their annual May the 4th Be With You Party. Doors will open at 6 a.m. for those looking to get things started early. A free 2024 Scum & Villainy pin will be available for a limited time for those looking to show up when doors open. This day will feature exclusive Star Wars-themed drinks, door prizes every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m., Star Wars trivia at 10 a.m., and special photo ops.

Star Wars Night @ Catch One (4067 W Pico Blvd.)
Doors: 9 p.m. (tickets) 21+

Das Bunker will bring Star Wars action to Catch One with Star Wars Night, which will bring industrial beats to four rooms. A special VIP area titled The Gungan Tiki Party will feature arcade games, special drinks, and a surprise.

May the 4th Unite Us @ Micky's Upstairs (8857 Santa Monica Blvd.)
Doors: 10:30 p.m. (tickets) 21+

Micky's Upstairs will get into the Star Wars spirit with their May the 4th Unite Us party, which will feature DJ Sir Canady spinning the best in pop music. Guestlist for the event will gain free entry until 11 p.m.

Star Wars Day happens to land on Free Comic Book Day this year, and there are a couple of Star Wars comics available to grab for free. Star Wars #1 will feature two exciting stories written by Greg Pak and Charles Soule while Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures will include a story based on the Disney+ series.
