Sony developing live-action adaptation of One-Punch Man

Another popular anime series is making its way to Hollywood.

Today, Sony has revealed plans to develop a live-action film of One-Punch Man. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, who wrote Venom and Jumanji: The Next Level, will write the film’s script. Avi and Ari Arad will be the film’s producers.

In 2009, One-Punch Man started out as a webcomic from manga artist One. The story follows a superhero named Saitama, who can beat opponents with only one punch. In 2012, it became an acclaimed manga series with the help of Yusuke Murata. Three years later, it received an anime adaptation, which aired on Adult Swim in the United States.

Back in February, One-Punch Man headed to video game consoles with One-Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows. The fighting game, which was developed by Spike Chunsoft, is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows.
