SkateCat (video game made by 9-year-old) comes to Nintendo Switch

SkateCat, which was created by young developer Seiji, is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this month.

Announced yesterday, the game will land on the console on May 30. Seiji began development on the game at the age of seven with the assistance of their father (as part of SJ Games) and DaleCoop Studio. The game is being published by Nami Tentou (Orebody: Binder's Tale, Nessy The NES Robot). An announcement trailer can be seen below.

A synopsis for SkateCat reads:

Step into the paws of SkateCat and brace yourself for an adrenaline-fueled escapade through Nekocity, a once peaceful haven now besieged by monstrous invaders from another dimension. As the chosen feline hero, it's up to you to restore harmony to this vibrant world.

SkateCat offers a thrilling platformer experience where you'll navigate perilous landscapes, evade devilish foes, and conquer challenging bosses across a multitude of universes. Armed with nothing but your trusty skateboard, embark on a journey through ever-changing environments filled with excitement and danger.

Created by SJ Games and DaleCoop Studio, SkateCat brings classic platforming action directly to you. Featuring meticulously crafted levels and unforgettable boss encounters, prepare to unleash your inner skater and save Nekocity from certain doom in this epic adventure of feline proportions.
