San Francisco indie pop duo corner club have unveiled the second single from their forthcoming in the rearview mirror EP today.

The song “when i die” revolves around the things that would be missed after passing away. Vocalist Savannah Du said this about the song’s origin:

"This song starts with a comment my mom made to me after my grandma passed, at a time when I wasn’t excited to be alive myself: 'When I die, scatter my ashes, but not too close to the sea ‘cause I can’t swim.'”

An accompanying music video was spawned during the duo’s move from New York to San Francisco. Guitarist Michael Zhang said this about putting together the video:

"We hatched the idea of us recording snippets singing the song with all of our friends as we went from New York to San Francisco, with a few other trips in between. By my count, we ended up filming with about 70 of our friends and family, across ten different cities! It was impossible not to cry the first time we put all the videos together."

Pre-saves for in the rearview mirror, which follows corner club’s 2021 debut EP little love lullabies, can be made here. The seven-track release will drop on October 6.
