Play NYC 2021 announces Graffiti Games developers

Play NYC has unveiled the list of developers taking part in their annual Graffiti Games program at this year’s event.

Hamra Digital founder Matthew Hamilton-Roux, Kril designer Tess Leiman, NYC's IGDA Chapter co-chair Oliver Hong, Games Without Words creative director John Smith, and Wall Ride Games’ art generalist Brieyh’leai Simmons will take part in the program showcasing local multiplayer games that can only be played with people in the same room. All five developers chosen gained a $5,000 grant to make a game they’ll get to own. Members of the Rockstar Games team will be available for support during the creation process.

Playcrafing founder/CEO Dan Butchko said this about this year’s Graffiti Games event:

“Graffiti Games has always been an important part of each year’s Play NYC. I’m so excited to evolve this initiative into a fuller annualized program alongside our friends at Rockstar Games. As New York opens up this summer, there’s no better time to celebrate the diversity that enriches our city and industry while giving attendees five new games that can be played together, without distance. This is an important year for Graffiti Games. I’m grateful to Rockstar Games for their continued support. And I can’t wait to see what our selected developers dream up!”
