Oz Comic-Con dropped some major updates in regard to their Adelaide and Perth events yesterday.

The good news is Oz Comic-Con Homegrown Adelaide will now take place in May instead of its planned February dates. The bad news is Oz Comic-Con Perth, which was originally set for March, has been postponed until further notice. An official statement from the convention can be seen below:

“Due to the situation in respect to COVID-19, the South Australian Government has taken over use of Jubilee Pavilion at the Adelaide Showgrounds through to the end of February for an accelerated vaccination programme. There is no alternative suitable space available on our planned February dates, so we have no choice other than to reschedule Oz Comic-Con Adelaide to May 21 – 22, 2022. We look forward to returning to Adelaide soon, even if it’s a little later than originally planned.

As for Oz Comic-Con Perth, while this was scheduled for March 5 & 6, 2022. Unfortunately the current restrictions imposed by the Western Australian Government do not make it possible for a team based in NSW, and exhibitors based around the country, to attend. Without confidence that the event will proceed, the event will be postponed until there can be certainty around planning and delivering the show successfully on the scheduled dates. We are looking forward to returning Oz Comic-Con to Perth and committed to running Oz Comic-Con nationally, but we can only do that when there is confidence the team and exhibitors that make the event will be able to enter WA.”
