Oxenfree II vinyl soundtrack to arrive via Iam8bit

The soundtrack for Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is getting the vinyl treatment.

Announced today, Iam8bit will bring the soundtrack to vinyl. The 22-track release will be pressed on Radio Disturbance Red vinyl, and it’ll feature a digital download of the soundtrack. The vinyl artwork was done by Calder Moore, who has worked with Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and iconic jam band Phish. The soundtrack will be available in stock here starting this Thursday (June 6) at 9 a.m. PST.

A description of the game’s soundtrack, which was composed by scntfc, reads:

With its eerie atmosphere and sharp-as-nails dialogue, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals calls to mind both ‘80s horror movies and coming-of-age stories alike. Developer Night School Studio weaves together a rich tale of returning home to find that not everything is the same, deftly building on the themes established in the first game.

And as was the case with that first game, music is a crucial part of Oxenfree II’s DNA. scntfc has once again crafted a foreboding, mercurial synth-powered soundscape, one that adds a whole new layer of intrigue and mystery to Oxenfree II’s foggy, treacherous cliff tops and streets. The music seems to whisper: “Danger is just around the corner, but so too is hope.”

Released last year, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals takes place five years after the conclusion of 2016’s Oxenfree. The game is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile phones (via Netflix subscription). More information about the game can be found here.
