One Step Closer unveil surprise EP 'Songs For The Willow'

Pennsylvania melodic hardcore band One Step Closer decided to surprise fans with a an EP full of new tunes yesterday.

Titled Songs For The Willow, the three-song EP was co-produced by Eric Chesek, who worked on the band’s debut album This Place You Know, and Jon Markson, who worked with acts such as Koyo and Soul Blind. The release features previously released song “Dark Blue.” A music video for "Turn To Me" can be found below.

Vocalist Ryan Savitski said this about the release:

“All three songs revolve around the problems that touring so much this last year have caused. Losing relationships, losing band members, losing a sense of what this band even means to everyone.

I feel like this last year was the first time we’ve truly felt like a real band, but there were so many issues underlying that it made it hard to enjoy a lot of things.”

Songs For The Willow is available on digital services right now via Run For Cover Records. Physical pre-orders for the EP can be made on Run For Cover Records’ webstore.

Starting today, the band will embark on a headlining tour across the United States with support from Soul Blind and Life’s Question, which will be followed by tours across Japan, Southeast Asia, and Australia as well as a support slot on Silverstein’s North American tour. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now.
