Mr. Bungle, The Melvins, and Spotlights to embark on Ipecac Recordings’ Geek Show tour

Mr. Bungle, The Melvins, and Spotlights are joining forces for a tour across the West Coast this May.

Announced yesterday, all three acts will take part of Ipecac Recordings’ Geek Show tour, which will be the label’s first bundled trek since 2004. The trek kicks off on May 11 at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, and it’ll conclude at The Fox Theater in Oakland on May 23.

Mike Patton said this about the tour:

"The Geek Show tours of the past were some of the best live show experiences I've ever had. Hanging out with friends that are also some of my favorite musicians is a great way to spend a couple weeks. This iteration is a mindblower. You will want to be the first one there and the last to leave this party! The mighty Melvins and Spotlights will prove to be a challenge for Mr. Bungle to follow. I only wish we could take this package around the globe."

Ipecac Recordings Co-owner Greg Werckman also said:

"It was always nice to be able to coordinate schedules and put a bunch of Ipecac bands together on the road. This is a fantastic lineup. All three bands deliver in their powerful and unique way. I wish it could have been an eight band bill. Hopefully this is only the beginning in getting the Geek Shows going again. Enjoy!"

Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Friday (January 27) at 10 a.m. local time.

Mr. Bungle will be promoting their 2020 studio album The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo, which is their first album in over 20 years. The Melvins will be plugging their 2022 studio album Bad Mood Rising. Spotlights will be unveiling the follow-up to their 2019 studio album Love & Decay.
