Midsummer Scream brings Halloween in July fun to Long Beach this weekend

Fans of horror and all things Halloween will head to Long Beach this weekend.

Midsummer Scream will take over the Long Beach Convention Center (300 E Ocean Blvd) from July 28 through July 30 for three days of convention fun. The guest list for the convention is packed a slew of talented individuals including Maggie Robertson (Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village), Marley Shelton (Scream, Planet Terror), and Rachel True (The Craft).

When it come to panels, the convention offers a bevy of them for all kinds of horror fans. Among the panels confirmed for the convention are a special Horror Nerd panel, MONSTERS & MODULES: Or "How to Bring Horror to your D&D/TTRPG,” and a special burlesque performance from Peepshow Menagerie. There’s even a section for children bringing a more lighthearted spooky time at Paranormal Pixie’s Pumpkin Patch.

As expected, Midsummer Scream will bring a huge list of vendors for those looking to shop. Wicked Moon Creations, Haunted Halloween Store, and Dark Parks Books & Collectibles are among the 350+ vendors confirmed for the convention.

Those looking to continue the spooky celebration after the convention ends on Saturday can head to the Midsummer Scream After Dark afterparty. This afterparty will feature DJ Carlos Zavala spinning the jams, a $500 costume contest, and a special screening of the forthcoming film Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls.

Three-day passes, single-day passes, and afterparty tickets can be purchased here. There’s also the VIP Gold Bat Pass, which features “exclusive credential and commemorative Gold Bat enamel pin, one-hour early entry to the show floor on Saturday and Sunday (at 10am) with priority entry on Friday (6pm), admission to the Saturday night party MSS After Dark, and priority entry to most panels, presentations, and attractions.” Photo op passes can be purchased here.
