Montreal singer-songwriter Michael Feuerstack delivered one last single from their forthcoming studio album Eternity Mongers yesterday.

Feuerstack said this about their new single “No Such Thing,” which can be heard below:

“I’m often frustrated at the absurdity of being asked to explain the lyrics of my songs… they are already expressed in words, after all. Once I feel I’ve expressed something nuanced and specific with all of the open-mindedness that the original question demands, how can more words help to make it any more clear? This short song is probably more explicit and direct than anything I’ve done before. In recent years, I’ve felt false binaries being pushed on us from all directions: social media, news, general culture… There is a challenge in being strong enough to say what you feel even in the face of troubling misdirection. I love how the back-up singers sound so bratty. It should be noted that this is in direct contrast to their usual presence of warmth and precision—a testament to their range and ability to get inside the sensibility of a song.”

Eternity Mongers will arrive on April 19 via Forward Music Group. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. "No Such Thing" is available on digital services right now here.
